I am 61 years old. I was born in Zimbabwe, but finished my school in Zambia, where I met my husband. We came to South Africa in 1964 – so I guess you can call us South Africans. The trouble is, we don’t feel like South Africans. We are English Zambians, born and raised in an English Colony and educated as English citizens, swearing allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen of England. We still long for our homeland,Zambia, and probably always will.
Family has always been very important to my husband and I. We have been devoted to our children, who have grown into fine, honest and respectable adults. We adore our three grandchildren too.
But even more important to me is my relationship with Jesus Christ, God’s chosen king, who died on the cross for me so that I could be reconciled to God. I love to be with other people who know God as I do, so the church I attend is very important to me.
My other interests are art, I love to paint and go to art exhibitions whenever I can,
and bird watching, but that isn’t so easy anymore with the crime situation the way it is here.
